Sweet 16 Flyer

Strokes and Slants Website
Strokes and Slants needed to move a site to a different hosting account, sharing the same resources as another site on the account. They also wanted to rebuild the site while keeping the same colors and images and using WordPress in order to manage it themselves.
Technical Innovations:
- Built new responsive site using WordPress (launched April 2016)
- Worked with client on reorganization and consolidating of site content
- Configuration on new host and transfer of DNS
- Minimal styling completed through the theme ColorNews and some custom CSS
- Managed previous site written in ASP

Communication Research Associates, Inc. Website
Communication Research Associates wanted to combine their two existing sites into one, keeping the same general look and feel of the first site. They also wanted to move the site to another server and build it with WordPress in order to manage it themselves.

DSKemp Coaching Logo
Business offering coaching for runners and cyclists by a certified coach who has also been a runner and cyclist for over 26 years.
The challenge was to create a logo conveying progress toward a goal. Client also wanted elements of both biking and running in the design.
The final design includes a runner, a border made from a bike gear, and a green ribbon which signifies renewal, progress and success.

New Moon Bodywork and Botanicals Website
New Moon needed a website to promote their massage practice and also have an online shop to display and sell their handcrafted products and gift certificates. A mailing list, blog, and contact form were also important features for the client.
Technical Innovations:
- Developed a responsive site redesign using WordPress (launched May 2014)
- Styling of site is heavily customized through CSS and based on the parent theme Artificer
- Implemented ecommerce features (cart and check out) and coordinated with client’s credit card gateway
- Photographed and edited all product photos
- Added feature to sell gift certificates and store credit, and separated them from regular products so shipping is not charged
- Added feature to add coupons and sales
- Configured shipping for multiple regions
- Added a customer mailing list
- Worked with client on reorganization and content of site
- Configuration on new host and transfer of DNS
- Managed previous site written in ASP (since 2005)

Office of the Inspector General, U.S. DOJ Website
I was assigned to take over the development and administration of the OIG website, and maintain Section 508 compliance. A complete redesign was launched in 2012 that kept the required majority of the existing file structure. The new site has a similar look and feel of the Department’s site, yet maintains it’s own identity.
Technical Innovations:
- Completed reorganization and redesign of website (launched 2012)
- Created PHP forms for reporting waste, fraud, or abuse with validation for required fields and protection from robots and spam
- Implemented jQuery features on About, Hotline, and Newsroom pages
- Created Multimedia pages to display both videos served from YouTube and podcasts hosted on DOJ’s servers.
- Created a jQuery external link disclaimer
- Maintain website in compliance with requirements identified in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and OMB’s Policies for Federal Public Websites
- Conversion of PDF reports to accessible Section 508 compliant files
- Management of GovDelivery email notifications
- Development of recommendations for site enhancements and new features

The Leader Website

The Lexington Park Leader is a online Maryland magazine with local community news, features, marketing and advertising. They needed some adjustments to the styling and layout of their existing WordPress site and also needed a better solution for managing advertisements.
My Role:
- Set up and configured plugins to manage advertisements
- Styling changes to menu, headlines, footer and home page features
- Create interactive social media icons
Sanborn Website
November 2011 – February 2012
Sanborn offers photogrammetric mapping and geographic information system (GIS) services. Sanborn needed a complete redesign of their site using Drupal. I developed a new site and custom theme based on designs provided by the client.
